OUTREACH - SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
OUTSIDE OF
SAINT ANDREW’S CHURCH
Trinity Sandwich Board:
On the
second Thursday of every month a group of volunteers from St.
Andrew’s provides, prepares and serves lunch to guests at Trinity
Episcopal Church in Aurora, IL.
Community Adult Day Care (CADC):
Serves on the Board of Directors, or volunteers at
the CADC center which provides daytime care for older adults who are
caregiver dependent.
FISH, Inc.:
Members of
the parish donate food weekly to this ministry. Others may serve as
workers, drivers or phone answerers.
Downers Grove Walk-in Ministry:
This organization provides assistance to those in
need on a short term basis. Parishioners participate as trained
volunteers and in giving financial support.
United Thank Offering (UTO):
An Episcopal Organization that collects money for worldwide
outreach.
Food for the Poor:
St. Andrew’s supports this group through donations and by hosting a
visit from a Food for the Poor representative.
Outreach Committee:
The
Outreach Committee is an arm of the vestry which is responsible for
decision making concerning the mission and ministry of outreach.
Anyone may join!
St. Leonard’s House:
Twice
a year a group of High School students and adults join together to
provide dinner and conversation with the men of St. Leonard’s house
in Chicago.
South American Mission Society (SAMS):
St. Andrew’s helps support a missionary family in
South America and hosts occasional visits from them.
Cathedral Shelter Baskets:
Join in providing food and gifts for Chicago families
who need assistance over the Christmas holidays.
Grace
House:
The ECW of
St. Andrew’s ministers to the women of Grace House on a periodic
basis. Events are planned well in advance and all the women of the
parish are invited to participate.
