Music as Part of our Worship
Music plays an important role in our Liturgy. Hymns, Psalms,
Canticles and Anthems are sung with choir and organ every Sunday at the
10:00 AM Eucharist.
Youth Choir:
Our young singers are as talented as they are versatile. They
included the
“Angel’s
Choir” for children in preschool through kindergarten, and the regular
Youth Choir for grades 1-8.
Both youth groups practice
on Sunday and sing at
various services throughout the year.
Adult
Choir:
Saint Andrew's is proud to have one of the premiere choir
groups in the area. It is open to all
interested singers, high school and older. The choir sings at the
10:00 AM Sunday Eucharist and at special services throughout the
year. Vocal ensembles, solos, and instrumental music are included
regularly in worship, and music is prominent at weddings, funerals and
other special services. The choirs sing a Service of Lessons and Carols
at Epiphany. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:45 PM in the
Church.
Instrumental
Saint Andrew’s Brass: An 'brass only' ad hoc group that
plays at special worship services, and for occasional services and
functions at Saint Andrew’s Church.
