Louise Kelly

It would be impossible to separate Louise Kelly from music.  It just flows through her.  She plays, creates, and shares music with her friends and family.  She teaches music for the Hillside school district, and plays piano with a pop string ensemble at weddings and events (https://www.backthird.com/pop-strings/piano-samples/).

Louise comes from a musical family.  She grew up in the area, the youngest of 5, and both her parents sang in a church choir.  Each of her siblings had to take piano lessons, but they never practiced.  When it was Louise’s turn, lessons weren’t offered.  That is until she asked for them, and that just got things rolling.   She sang in a high school rock band, earned a music degree from DePaul, lived and worked in Los Angeles, and of course, moved back to Chicago’s glorious western suburbs, where she continues her musical career.

She started coming to St. Andrews after returning from L.A.  Louise had two precious daughters and was looking for a place to worship, something that had always played a big role in her life.  Now catch this, she decided to check out St. Andrews because it was the perfect bike-ride distance from her house.  I love it!  Not only is it green, but it also highlights Louise’s out of the box thinking.  Of course she stayed for reasons other than biking, but I’m glad a bicycle got her here.

Much of Louise’s time is spent raising her daughters, Bella and Noelle.  Bella is a junior at Downers Grove South High School.  You might remember her from the beautiful violin solo she performed at the Christmas Eve service.  She writes her own music and sings in a rock band.  Noelle, a 5th grader at Fairmount School, is also a budding violin player.

Music is integral to Louise and her family.  It’s one way they share Christ’s love with the world.
