Jim Kartsounes is the picture of humility.  Why?  I don’t know.  He’s an amazing man, part of a beautiful family, with a successful career, who does so much for our church.  What’s there to be humble about?

Jim grew up in Downers Grove.  As a kid, he created some of his fondest memories at St. Andrews.  He attended Downers Grove South High School, then College of DuPage, and he graduated from North Central College in Naperville with a degree in business management.  At this point, he wanted to move west and become a ski bum. Wisely, some might say, he didn’t, instead he got a job and has been in medical sales for most of his career.  That took him to Boston, New Jersey, and Pittsburgh, before returning to his roots here in Downers Grove.

As a congregation, we couldn’t be luckier to have Jim as a member.  He has served on the vestry, always takes his chances with Snow Command (it’s kind of like playing roulette), and usually escorts Jane Behrel to the front of the Church for Communion on Sunday Morning.

Jim is a great example of being the hands and feet of Christ without letting it go to your head.  We’re glad he’s back.
