INREACH- SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
WITHIN
SAINT ANDREW’S
CHURCH
Acolytes:
For those in 6th grade or older. Training is provided; participants
serve at the altar during the Sunday Eucharists and other special
services.
Altar
Guild: For those 18 or older. Four teams serve one week a
month to clean, organize and set up whatever is needed for Sunday
and other services.
Lay
Eucharistic Minister: For those 18 or older. Participants
read lessons, the Prayers of the People, and assist with Communion
at Sunday and other Eucharists. Training provided.
Lector:
Open to those 13 and older. Reads a lesson at the Eucharist and
other liturgies.
Usher:
Open to those 13 and older. Greets newcomers, distributes
bulletins, takes the collection, and assists the congregation in
lining up for communion.
Coffee
Hour Hosts: Open to everyone! Hosts a coffee hour after a
Sunday service; directions and coffee cheerfully provided!
Library
Guild: Open to everyone! Organizes and maintains the parish
library.
Church
School Teacher: Open to High School students and adults.
Participates as a team member in teaching children on Sunday
mornings
Vestry
Member: Elected by the congregation and serves a three year
term as part of the group that manages, organizes and plans for the
parish.
Vestry
Committee: Individuals may volunteer to serve on a vestry
committee that is of particular interest to them: “Come Grow With
Us”, Finance, Youth Ministry, Building and Grounds, Administrative
Support, Outreach, Hospitality, Stewardship, Long Range Planning,
Christian Formation for Children, Christian Formation for Adults,
Ordained Ministry, Worship, and Inreach/Helping Hands.
Nursery
Volunteer: Open to High School students and adults. The
nursery is staffed for the 10:00 Sunday Eucharist and other special
services.
Diocesan
Convention Delegates: Represent the parish at the Diocesan
Convention in November.
Brotherhood of St. Andrew: A group of men who provide
service both inside and outside of St. Andrew’s.
Episcopal Church Women (ECW):
Sponsors a variety of activities for women at the
parish and diocesan level. Several guilds are included within this
group, each with their own focus.
Daughters of the King (DOK):
A group of women dedicated to prayer, service and
evangelism.
Helping hands/Inreach:
An
opportunity for members of the Parish to care for each other in
times of need (illness, grief,
unemployment, birth, death, times of change).
