What’s Happening at St. Andrew’s

Sign Up for PADS

4th Tuesday/Wednesday of the Month

St. Andrew’s has committed to partially staffing PADS at First United Methodist Church in Downers Grove on the 4th Tuesday/Wednesday of the month during the school year.

We are responsible for setting up the site and cleaning up the next morning. We also have opportunities for overnight shifts this year or helping deliver linens from Good Samaritan hospital to the PADS site. This is an easy and truly blessed way to give back to those who are less fortunate in our community. Once you sign up, Colleen Loftus will send more information about your assignment & answer any questions you may have!

Please click the sign up button below to be taken to our volunteer sign up for the year. If you have any questions before you sign up, please contact Colleen Loftus (Loftus.colleen@gmail.com)

Lenten Wednesday Evenings-  Supper Discussions

New time!  5:45 pm

Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple

He was not rich or educated, but was familiar with hard work. He was quick-tempered and impetuous, but possessed a passion that would change the world. He left everything to follow his teacher, yet struggled with doubt and fear.  Join fellow parishioners and pastor and author Adam Hamilton in this in-depth video dive into the life, faith, and character of Simon Peter. The video clips are short, allowing ample time for discussion.

March 4 – The Call of the Fisherman
March 11 – Walking with Jesus in the Storm
March 18 – Bedrock or Stumbling Block?
March 25 – “I Will Not Deny You”
April 1 – From Cowardice to Courage

Simple soup, salad & bread suppers will precede each discussion. Supper will begin at a new time this year–5:45 p.m. Discussion will start promptly at 6:30. Come and join us for either or both! There are sign-ups in the Gathering Space for each week to let us know you’re coming and/or to volunteer to supply soup, salad or bread.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
On Fridays (through April 3) at 6:30 p.m. Stations of the Cross will be walked and prayed in the Church. This additional service provides an opportunity for personal meditation and reflection on the meaning of Jesus’ death and its importance for his followers.
