Katherine James, Author of Can You See Anything Now?
Saturday, January 27 at 7 PM, Upstairs @ St. Andrew’s
Book signing, reading and conversation
A Christianity Today 2018 Book Award winner, “Can You See Anything Now?” marks the debut of an exciting literary talent. I hear echoes of Elizabeth Strout and Richard Russo in Katherine James’s richly detailed world, in her empathy, quiet humor, and hope. Richard Foster has said that writing is spiritual if it ‘drill[s] down into the subterranean chambers of the human soul.’ James manages this improbable task as she explores the lives of an intergenerational cast—including the irresistible Margie—drifting between the small-town foibles of Trinity and urban particularities of Manhattan. May her characters, insights, and often-striking prose find the wide audience they deserve.” —Daniel Bowman, associate professor of English, Taylor University
Katie James, a Downers Grove North graduate and daughter of Phil and Jo Ann Matejczyk, has an MFA in fiction from Columbia. She writes narrative non-fiction as well as poetry and has work published in various journals and anthologies. Go to her website for more information Katherine James.

All About the Eucharist
Sundays, February 18 & 25, 8:15-10 AM
In the Nave (the church)
Instruction about the Eucharist for the children of St. Andrew’s.
The purpose of Instructed Eucharist is to welcome children to participate in the Sunday service. We will provide copies of an illustrated handbook and walk through highlights of a narrated Holy Eucharist. Children and parents are then invited to come to the actual service at 10:15 to follow along in the handbook and reinforce what they learned.
No sign up necessary.
