Our Origins
Services of the Episcopal
Church began in Downers Grove in 1880, when a few families met in homes
and rented buildings.
The cornerstone for a church
building at Franklin and Forest was laid in 1897. This building served
the congregation until the 1950’s.
Our building was not
originally designed with such a possibility in mind, but technology has
enabled us to retrofit air conditioning in 2011. Fund raising efforts
have
succeeded in allowing us the benefits of a cool summer of
worship.
Thanks and God's blessings to
all who help make this possible.
Our Newest Building Addition
Completed
in late 2005, we received official occupancy 2006.
Our outdoor Courtyard is alive
with new plantings this time of year.
Our Gathering Space now provides for a beautiful transition
to the Parish Hall.
Saint Andrew's Church now has
a new Sacristy, a new nursery and child care area, a library, a new
meeting and office spaces.
