Where am I in God’s Family ?
St. Andrew’s Men’s Retreat
Letting
God love me makes me better and makes me a better and loving son,
nephew, father, uncle,
brother, husband, significant other. . . . whatever your role in God’s
and your family.
Retreat
to remind ourselves of the Grace of God.
Advance
back into the world to love and serve God and God in each other.
Retreat was led by the men
of the parish.
We worked on the parable of
the Prodigal Son from the perspective of the
father, son and the brother
who stayed home to understand who we are in God’s Family.

have in our lives."
"Clear focus, good fellowship,
left me some weekend to do chores."
"The
whole discussion of how our family relationships relate to spiritual
relationships was very interesting."

is so often assumed that everyone has the same relationship to "the
father",
based on their relationship with
their male parent, which was revealed as vastly oversimplified based
on our discussions."
"Comfortable environment to grow as
a Christian."
"It’s a great way to get to know
some fellow parishioners on a deeper level."
"Our
home-grown speakers did a great job, and we all had a great time
together."
"You learn the history, depth of
character, and experience someone
(men you see 1x a week briefly) who
likely have had similar life circumstances a time or two."
"Great
opportunity to spend some time "away from church" with other men of
St. Andrews/"
"Chance to converse,
socialize, study, enjoy, understand, pray,
and discuss personal and religious
issues with participants."
