Mission Trip
to The Quad Cities.
The month of July we spent
getting ready for our mission trip to the Quad Cities. Our
participants and adults on the trip were Joe Butler, Matthew
Sarver, Thomas Sarver, Audrey Eaton, Emily Anderson, Nathan Spitler, Amanda Spitalli, Paul Spitalli, Maura Killian, Marissa
Howland, Maria Von Dreele, Tim Boo, Mike Lambert, Shelley
Forrester and me. There will be more to come about our trip in
the September crosscurrents! Thank you to everyone who
supported us as we prepared for this trip.
July 2008
This past summer’s Mission Trip
was to Cincinnati, Ohio on July 13-18.
Our mission trips offer the
experience of service to others as Jesus modeled to us; an opportunity to build
friendships and experience Christian community; a time for personal spiritual
growth and focus on relationship with God; an opportunity to learn about other
cultures; an opportunity to learn about poverty and social justice; and a chance
to put our faith to work in real life situations.

In July 2007, our Mission Group Volunteers
traveled to New Orleans and the surrounding
areas assisting with the
recovery efforts from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.
